FAQs

Do I need to consider myself a writer? No, this class is for all levels from--seasoned writers to first time writers.

Age Requirement

This class is for adults ages 18 and older. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18.

Is there homework? Every week you will be given guidance on how to continue your story out of class. There are no due-dates.

Will this class be fun? My groups usually embrace some humor while doing the deep work. It should be enjoyable. Class is fast-paced, so we don't linger too long on one exercise or reading.

What if I end up writing about something that isn't my own mental health?

Then keep writing! My goal is to inspire you to write. Content & genre is up to you.

Sharing and Participation

Sharing your writing is always optional. You may say “pass” at any time. If you would like to share but have questions or concerns, please contact me in advance.

We treat one another respectfully and protect the privacy of anything shared during class.

Recordings and Privacy

Classes will not be recorded in order to protect the privacy of participants. Participants may not record, photograph, screenshot, copy, or distribute another participant’s writing.

Class is not therapy or therapeutic writing

This is a creative writing class offered for educational purposes. I am not a therapist or medical professional. If you are seeking therapy, I recommend BetterHelp.com. If you are ever in need of immediate support, please dial 988, a suicide and crisis lifeline.
