Janine
Noel
with
Janine Noel is a mental health advocate who believes in the power of writing and speaking raw stories about mental illness. She is creator and host of Bipolar She podcast, where guests share personal narratives to reduce our fears and normalize illness. With an MFA in creative nonfiction from Saint Mary’s College of California, she is currently an educator, editor and story consultant for authors and speakers.
Janine has been in the business of storytelling for decades, beginning as an actor and writer in theater and film. Most recently she co-founded Diablo Writers' Workshop with Andrea Firth, bringing creative writing courses to students across the country. She's led over 50 writing workshops and offered developmental editing to over a hundred writers.
She has edited books in multiple genres--from fiction to memoir to self-help and to middle-grade and more. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College where her passion for storytelling began. in 2024 she founded the Bipolar She podcast to bring stories of those coping with their mental health into the light. As producer and host, the show has now expanded to include experts in the fields of therapy, neuroscience, psychology, and treatment--while never losing sight of the voices of everyday survivors.
